Following the order of Hon’ble High Court / Calcutta in WPCT No. 278/2009 in
the matter of Sri Rajat Baran Sinha and Ors – vs - UOI and Ors., the Hon’ble
CAT/Calcutta had re-heard the matter of Sri Sudhangshu Sekhar Biswas & 30
Others –vs- UOI & Ors. in OA No.706/2009 on 19/3/2010 and delivered its
judgement on 09/4/2010. In accordance with the directives of Hon’ble
CAT/Calcutta dtd. 09/4/2010, it is notified for information of related
candidates against E.N.No.0106, that whose applications have been cancelled
on the ground of specific defects in applications / enclosures or other
reasons, may submit their representations against such cancellation, which
should reach to the office of Railway Recruitment Cell at RITES Building,
56, C.R.Avenue, Kolkata – 700 012 within one month from the date of issue of

In reference to the Employment Notification
No.0106 regarding Employment in Gr. ‘D’ Category in Eastern Railway,
following orders has been passed by Hon’ble CAT/Kolkata on 12.01.2010 in OA
No. 706 of 2009 Sudhangshu Sekhar Biswas and Other cases in compliance with
Hon’ble High Court/Kolkata’s Judgement in W.P.C.T. No. 278 of 2009, Shri
R.B.Sinha and 19 Others. “Since the panel consists of total 5300 candidates, their interest may be prejudiced by any order to be passed by this Tribunal in fresh hearing and it is also not possible to know the names and addresses of all these empanelled candidates, we are of the opinion that a notice be published in the popular daily News papers (in English, Bengali and Hindi) Daily to the effect that interested parties may appear either individually or in a representative capacity in person or through his/their counsel before this Tribunal to contest the cases. The Ld. Counsel for the respondents is directed to take steps accordingly so that notice is published within a week. All the added parties will be at liberty to file reply, well before the date fixed”. In terms of the said order of Hon’ble CAT/Calcutta dated 12.01.2010, it is notified that the Write Petitioners in W.P.C.T No. 278 of 2009, including other similarly situated and adversely affected aggrieved persons, as reflected in the said judgement are advised to take necessary steps in the matter, keeping in mind that next date has been fixed on 19.03.2010. While every care has been taken in preparation of the panel, the possibilities of inadvertent errors cannot be ruled out. The empanelment does not confer any right to appointment and in case any deficiency is noticed at any stage, the empanelment of the candidate is liable to be cancelled. The names of eligible
candidates to be medically examined prior to formation of panel against
Notification No.0106 is being hoisted in phased manner in Web-site of RRC-ER
(Web-site No. www.rrcer.com) on each day 155 candidates will be medically
examined. The Medical Test will be continued for approx 40 working days. The
eligible candidates are advised to check the web-site and if his/her name is
appearing in list. In case he/she does not get the call letter in time,
he/she may contact respective Sr. DPO at DRM Office one day in advance of
Medical Test to collect Duplicate Call letter. He/She should show Original
Call Letter of PET, Original Certificate Educational Qualification & Photo
etc to the Nominated Officer before Sr. DPO to get his/her Duplicate Call
Letter for Medical Test.

Call letters to eligible
candidates have been despatched. Those who do not receive the Call Letter by
27th May-2008 may contact RRC-ER
office on phone no, 033-2255-5082 or 2255-5081. The
successful candidates are required to appear in Physical Efficiency Test
(PET) to be held at the under mentioned Centres and on the dates mentioned
below (check result to know your PET Date and Venue). Candidates must
appear at the under mentioned centres and dates at 06:30 hrs( 06:30 A.M.)
sharp. If a candidate fails to appear on the allotted date and time he will
not be given any other opportunity to appear at PET and will not be
considered for empanelment.
No
marks will be awarded for P.E.T. However, completing the P.E.T.(both events)
is compulsory. The original documents of the candidates will be verified at the time of PET. Hence all the candidates must bring the following documents at the time of PET (1) Original copy of educational qualification certificate, Date of Birth certificate (or any other valid proof in support of Date of Birth), Caste Certificate and any other certificate on the basis of which age or other relaxation was sought. (2) Photocopy of all the documents mentioned in preceding para(No.1) above, duly attested by authorised gazetted/govt. officer . (3) One recent passport sized self photograph of the candidate. (4) Lower part of the Call Letter( Candidate’s copy) for the written examination. If a candidate does
not receive call letter by 27.05.2008, the Office of Sr. Divisional Personnel
Officer (Sr.D.P.O.) in Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) office of the
Centre where his/her PET is scheduled to be held may be contacted. For
example, if a candidate’s PET is scheduled to be held at ASANSOL and if
he/she does not receive the call letter by 27.05.2008, the office of Sr. DPO
in DRM’s Office at Asansol may be contacted on 28.05.2008 or onwards. Candidates are required to make their own arrangement for lodging/boarding . He/She may have to come prepared to stay for additional one/two days, if required. Before participation in PET Candidates must ensure themselves that they are physically and otherwise fit to join the PET to avoid any injury/damage/loss either to themselves or others during the PET on account of their inherent physical disability. RRC-ER will not be responsible / liable for any loss/injury/damage caused to the candidates during the PET. RRC-ER has not appointed any agents/agency for acting on its behalf.
